Almighty God, we come before your throne of grace today and petition you on behalf of our speaker of the house, Joe Straus. We know the prayer of his heart today is like that of King Solomon's when he prayed: "Give me now wisdom and knowledge to go out and come in before this people; for who can rule this your people, that is so great?" (2 Chronicles 1:10)
We ask your guidance in this hour for every member of this august body and every staff person. Endue each representative and our speaker with concern and compassion for the people of Texas. Give them wisdom to adjust the monies available to meet the true needs of our great state. Let this day bring honor to your holy name and blessings to the people of Texas. Amen.
